What's Your Weather Like?

This was another stormy day here, but I think it's over as I write this.  Tomorrow is Friday already.  You've heard this before, but where does the time go?  I know it goes too fast.  I didn't get the things accomplished that I set out to do.

I spent part of the day trying to figure out how to install a new printer/scanner.  My old one quit on me and I had to quit on trying to install the new one.  It'll have to wait until one of my children is around and has time to look at it.  Just call me tech-challenged.  After I already made a mess of things at my desk, I started going through stuff that needs organizing.  That will have to be finished another day as it turned out to be a bigger job than I anticipated.

Sometimes I think I have ADD because I can wonder off into another room and easily forget what I was doing and start on something else.  I did keep the laundry going while keeping one eye on the radar online to see when the storm was going to hit here.  Thankfully, we didn't have much damage.  A good sized limb came out of one of the trees.  We had rain and a little hail last night.

I hope the spring flowers weren't battered too much.  The forsythia and tulip you see here are at our other house, the one I call The Project.  There are several forsythias there and red, yellow, and pink tulips.

Robins, goldfinches, cardinals, woodpeckers, house finches, chickadees and more are still busy at the feeders.  I had to laugh yesterday when I looked out my window.  There sat a cardinal on the feeder looking at me and then at his empty feeder then back at me.  We watched each other for a few minutes until I told him I'd be right down with some sunflower seeds.  I think we have an understanding.

My favorite weather is bird-chirping weather.

Happy Thursday (and Friday) to you!

  1. That's cute! I'm sure that you do have an understanding. I really must have some sort of ADD because, until you mentioned laundry, I had forgotten that I was supposed to be pushing some today. Oh my!

  5. Hi Cheryl, Glad you didn't get any damage from the latest storm.... This is 'that' time of year. We may get some bad weather late tonight/tomorrow here--but hopefully, it won't be bad.. We had a thunderstorm recently with some hail --but luckily no damage. I love rain in April --but no storms!

Our Tulips are blooming and So pretty... We still have Daffodils blooming --and our winter Pansies have come back. Amazing after such a devastating winter here how things DO come back. Thanks be to God.

That Cardinal was telling you to get your act together and bring out some food!!!!! ha ha

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Cheryl, I find myself getting distracted as I move from one room to another. At the end of the day, I see something that I forgot to return to!!! I have been watching the extreme weather across the nation. Here in GA, we have had 2 days of perfect weather but rain is headed our way. The dogwood trees seem to be at their peak this week. Hope you have a nice Friday.

  7. Cheryl...I've been keeping up on the weather...all of us in the Midwest are being hit hard and I read that your area was for sure. We have some bad storms heading our way right now...I have the candles ready! Seems as soon as we have an odd warm day in the spring or fall.

I flit from one project to another...I think I'm multitasking but really I just get distracted easily. lol!

Thank you for you nice visit!!

  8. Hi Cheryl!

I totally understand!! Just tonight as we were eating dinner, I turned to my husband and said, "We really should have blessed the food." He looked at me with a funny grin and said, "I did bless the food". I felt pretty foolish . . . to still cannot remember him blessing the food!

Our weather is warm one day, cold the next, rainy, snowy, hail, wind . . . very typical for Eastern Idaho in April. My husband did go out today and mow the lawn and gave it it's first good soak.

Your pictures are so pretty! I can't wait til we at least have leafs on the trees. This afternoon, I heard such a chatter of chirping, and looked out the door to find the trees just full of, Starlings! Not my favorite bird, but I sure loved the chirping!

I am technically challenged as well - my grandchildren have to help me out! We just went and got our computer today after having it in the computer hospital for a couple of days. We had a couple if viruses on it, and I was not smart enough to get them off. They were bad ones, so we were glad we brought it in.

Have a wonderful Friday!! And remember . . . you are completely NORMAL!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  9. Cheryl, I have been watching the weather up in our area. So far we have been lucky and the worse has gone around us. The hail was nothing like some areas has gotten. I know I have several things going and I know part of my problem is that I have to much on my mind. My sil may get to go home from the hospital tomorrow from having open heart surgery. I am going to take care of some things for my daughter tomorrow. Today we went from 70 degrees at noon and to 49 when I came home from the nursing home. My yard looks like I got snow from the blooms falling off my magnolia tree. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your NW Missouri Friend Shirley

  11. That is a perfect tulip, it looks like it is holding the sun! The forsythias are blooming around here, too. Neither Phil or I can hook up a printer, or a computer! So you are not the only one. And it isn't just the women!

  14. The weather has been ferocious for the past couple days. Glad you were safe through the storms. I am not tech savvy either. Hope you get the printer up and running soon. Those birds all look so sweet. What a lovely sight to behold. I'm glad you and the cardinal reached an understanding. Redbirds are my favorites.

  17. Monday was gorgeous! The rest of the week? Not so much. Gray, drizzly, and chilly. April shower and all that. I'm not complaining though. I like to reserve my complaints for those dreadfully humid days in July and August.

I love hearing about your interchange with the cardinal! :) My parents have similar arrangements with the squirrels that live in their backyard.

  20. Cheryl, We had lots of rain, wind and warnings. Then in the night some stuff went thru..we lost our power for the third time in two days. But even at that, we were lucky...some lost all. They are in my prayers today. Your flowers look wonderful . Hope your weekend is a good one. xoxo,Susie

  21. Lovely spring photos. Our forsythia has bloomed and gone but it certainly filled out this year. It's taken a long time. We had heavy rains last night and more expected throughout the next week. It is probably going to make me cause my wildflower trip Sunday and Monday. We are ahead of our annual rainfall for the area by over 10 inches so far!

  22. Hi Cheryl. I can't imagine living in the tornado watch zone. It must be very stressful to hear those sirens and to be always watching the sky. I shouldn't complain about the cold freezing rain we've been having here today I guess. I love the pic of your Forsythia. It is really loaded. We still have lots of snow here. Take care and I hope you have a good and a safe weekend.

  24. Lovely pictures! I am happy you were safe from the storms. They certainly looked bad in some of the areas.
It has been lovely weather here; but predicted snow maybe next week. We do need the moisture so bad; so I won't complain but I will be happy when spring stays a while.
Have a sweet weekend and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you, which I know you do.
    Sending hugs your way!

  25. You sound very normal, moving from one room to the other and having way too many projects on the go at once. At least I hope that's normal, cause I do this all the time. Have a great weekend.

  26. Good Morning Cheryl! I think we are going to have a nice day.. :) It was stormy here... BIG wind, a bit of hail and lots of rain. I will always take the rain. Have a wonderful weekend!

  27. You know those birds get a little bossy at the feeders! :) Glad the storm passed you by without much harm. I'm so tired of the fear mongers yelling "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" til everyone is scared to death every time the wind blows..or maybe that's just me. :)

  29. We had some pretty heavy storms too and a very bad tornado about 30 miles away. Not far enough for me.
It is finally starting to warm up a bit but everything is behind as far a blooms. Your Forsythia is beautiful!

  32. Hi Cheryl, I am smiling as I write this, as I too find myself wondering why I came into a room and forgot what for! it usually takes a while to figure it out.
I am so glad the severe weather by past you, and am so sad for those who were not so lucky. Spring around here always brings threats of severe weather, hopefully soon this will pass.
I am always amazed at how our fine feathered friends relate to us, my humming birds always let me know when they are out of nectar. ~smile~
You have the most beautiful and clear photos, please share of how you do this, I seem to have lost my knack for good photography.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  34. Spring storms and tornado weather will soon be full force. Stay safe and alert!
We have had lovely warmish weather all last week but may get another small snowfall this upcoming week. Because of our altitude we can have snow until june--ugh! My daffodils are blooming so I'm happy to see them. I can't wait to plant annuals in late May!
